Hi all! I'm Gianluca, a MA student (law) and I'm willing to work on the tr-az pair.
I will submit soon a proper application, but in the meanwhile I'd like to show you briefly what I plan to do, so that I can receive comments and criticism. The main goal is to have a functioning apertium pair for tr-az. As morph analyzer for turkish we already have TRmorph (and i'm collaborating closely with Cagri Coltekin, the developer of TRmorph to fix bugs I've found) and as morph analyzer for Azerbaijani I'm actually developing azmorph (which you can find in apertium SVN), a morph analyzer for Azerbaijani based on TRmorph, which is already able to produce plurals, noun inflections, present aorist and simple past. Turkish and Azerbaijani are so closely related that I'm confident to achieve a really good result. Even though none of them is my native language (I'm Italian, I have an advanced turkish and elementary Azerbaijani), I can work on this pair using resources I kept collecting over weeks.
