I don't trust anyone, so I don't expect you to trust me.

Tesseract is the only open source OCR program that comes with a full
set of tools to train new languages, and the current development
version includes some features not found anywhere else. The only open
source engine that's comparable is OCRopus, but that's quite difficult
to set up. But don't take my word for it :)
