Hello,

So after re-shuffling some paths in my OS X system (specifically, switching
from using MacPorts to Homebrew), I ran into all sorts of problems running
and compiling apertium tools that wasted a lot of my time.
I eventually found most of the solutions in... the Apertium on Mac OS X page
at the wiki [1]. The biggest problem though, other than I wasn't aware of
this page until Google found it for me, is that the instructions can be very
confusing;

1. Most of the requirements listed aren't needed for a successful build.
I had so much trouble installing libxml2 until I figured out that OS X comes
bundled with it and installing it myself causes a conflict. However;
2. ./configure consistently fails with the error message "syntax error near
unexpected token", on both lttoolbox and apertium, probably because of using
the bundled library.
The wiki page has a solution for that (running aclocal, automake, etc.
manually) and it works, but it seems funny that I'm now banned from using
autogen.sh in all of the projects.
I'm not at all familiar with configure and make scripts, but I hope these
sorts of things can be fixed within the scripts.

Would love to help fix that and document the setup I ended up with... Just
tell me what to do :)
