*Hi everyone,

I am Nehil Jain, a 4th year undergraduate (B.E. Electrical and Electronicsl
and M.Sc. Mathematics) student at BITS Pilani University, India. I wish to
apply to the Apertium for the Google Summer of Code. I am inclined to work
on the idea of porting Apertium to Android Mobile platform.

I have been learning and developing android applications for one year now.I
have been the Teaching Assistant of the course: Software Development for
Portable devices under Professor Mangesh Bedekar. This course is an
initiative by Google Inc. in our university. I was responsible for
conducting lectures and creating problems for evaluative lab sessions. I
have designed different applications to solve real-life challenges.SOme of
them are 'Citywars' - a concept based on twitter, where people show the
love for their cities.'Offline Way2Go' - an extension for the Google Chrome
browser and an Android application which plots directions between two
places on an offline Android device through a QR Code.'FTP Synchronizer'
-an application, built using Python, helps our university students to keep
track of the study material uploaded by faculty members on the BITS-FTP
server.'Trace Anything in India' - an Android application that lets a user
trace a mobile number, vehicle number, STD code & Pin Code.I ahve also
tried Googles app inventor tool to make 'Campus Update'- an Android
application that gives complete information of events/activities happening
in and around Goa instantly.

I have also developed several web applications for various startups and
companies which included end to end work (Backend+Frontend+Db design).

This is my first attempt in GSoC. I would really appreciate Jacob could
provide some guidelines/ resources for me learn more about the idea of
porting Apertium to android mobile platform.I am aware that the final list
of Orgs will be out only by mid March.

Regards,*
