Hi Keld, yes, your suggestion is very interesting. Meaning is a very important aspect of a word! Have you done any work on it?
I'm beginning with domains, as this might be a very easy way to get a significant improvement. When adding a word manually (or automatically from a corpus for a specific domain) it's not much extra effort to add info on domain and style, when appropriate. Might be useful even if you've got info on meaning (though, obviously, not very frequently). But, the main reason, is that I believe this is a way to quickly produce something useful. A high coverage and accuracy in a domain is a much easier goal, than general translation. Although I hope that eventually, with lots of domains added, this strategy will produce a fairly good general translation.
