Hi all,
This is an idea that I have taken up from the ideas page.
The Diacritic Restoration for Apertium toolbar. Interesting things that I
found on this:
If I translate "How are things going on?" to Spanish using Apertium
translator, it gives: "Cómo es las cosas que van en?". When translated
back to English (using Apertium) I get: "How is the things that go in?" and
Google translate gives the correct result. However, if the diacritic (ó
from Cómo) is removed then the translation is as below:
As things going on? (Google translate)
As it is the things that go in? (Apertium).
So, we see that the ó makes a lot of difference. I would like to work to
add this feature to Apertium. That is, before translation, the toolbar
should restore any possible missing diacritic and then translate. But, for
this I need help and more information on this. Can anyone provide me any
kind of help regarding how I can proceed to work on this?
Cheers,
