Hey all, I've registered as an organisation administrator in the Google Code-in, now we just need to fill out the application form:
http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Google_Code-in/Application_2013 We also need to go over the task ideas on the Wiki and make sure we have 5 fresh ideas for each of the five areas: http://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Ideas_for_Google_Code-in There is also the question of a backup administrator, anyone who is interested should contact me. Also, people wanting to take part as mentors should also contact me. Note that being a mentor for GCI is more work than for GSOC, although over a shorter time period (7 weeks). Last year we had the problem of not enough mentors around on IRC, and also of not having enough tasks available in all categories at all times, so if we want to take part, we really need to push the boat out. :) However, there are really a great number of successes from GCI and it really is possible to get quite a lot of work done. For example: the Kazakh morphology was partly written by a GCI pupil; the Dutch--Afrikaans MT system; the Armenian morphology; the simple html interface; and a whole lot of other language resources. :) Fran ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ October Webinars: Code for Performance Free Intel webinars can help you accelerate application performance.
