I don't recall ever having tried to compile Apertium in Visual Studio, but
I'm fairly certain that _mingw.h is part of the MinGW runtime (
http://www.mingw.org/), and is meant to be compiled using the MinGW GCC
compiler, which is a GNU compiler. I've only ever compiled the C++ Apertium
runtime in Windows using GCC in Cygwin, myself.
