I think this is clear: "Take the apertium-es-ca.es.dix from apertium-es-ca
Write a XSLT sheet that transforms as many entries <e> as possible in 
the standard section of the dictionary as follows ... ". That language 
pair does not use metadix. That is why the task is for that language pair!
