Ive registered myself as mentor. As far as I can tell its like GSoC, but it is going on through the semester intead of the summer. There is not neccesarily a cash payment for passing, but in many universities (mine included) we can probably give students ECTS credits for working on such projects, if there is a local co-supervisor at the university which can loosely follow the process and do an examination or project assessment in the end.
