There is a language-independent Perl script that you can download and install from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lingala/files/charlifter/0.07/ $ gunzip charlifter-0.07.tar.gz $ tar xvf charlifter-0.07.tar.gz $ make $ sudo make install Then get the data for Tshivenda here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/lingala/files/charlifter-ve/0.01/ (same install process). Once you have these two installed, you can do diacritics restoration from the command line: $ cat ascii.txt | sf.pl -r -l ve > restored.txt There's probably a lot of improvement for Tshivenda - I didn't have a good word list when I built the model, and there wasn't a great deal of text on the web that used the correct diacritics.
