Subject: [ronpaul-763] The People's Convention!

Hello my fellow patriots,

I am just back from Minneapolis this morning. I am glad that this message to
all of you does not depend on my voice. It is nearly gone after yelling my
head off and speaking with hundreds of people this last week....haha!

I am transfixed by what I saw and was engaged in these last few days. I wish
that more of us could have gone to the rally. It was one of the best trips of
my life.

As Dr. Paul always says, 'If you are not having fun you are doing it wrong.'
Well, we had some fun!

We sold out the Target Center. We had 498 of the 535 Congressional districts
represented at the Leadership Summit on Monday. Over 600 people attended the
Real Politics training school on Sunday (originally slated to be only 500). We
deafingly demanded to 'End the Fed' as a chant both at the Nation Celebration
and the Rally. The first time it shocked Dr. Paul during his speech on Monday
night at an outdoor stadium. He stepped back from his podium, allowing us to
gather volume and force. Then he returned and laughed, saying, 'I think you
better do it louder next time, they still haven't heard you in Washington.' We
dutifully responded. The next night at the Rally we enjoyed the chant so much
that I would estimate 13,0000+ supporters joined together to cry out merely at
Dr. Paul's mention of inflation. He joked again, saying that we had missed our
cue. We missed it two times.

We spent two and a half hours on the ground in downtown Minneapolis, talking to
the people. In the beautiful, steady rain before the Rally we walked the
streets, talking to numerous locals. So many of them were interested. So many
of them agreed with our appeals to their loss of freedom. So many of them
decided to attend when we gave them free tickets. We were passed frequently by
RNC delegates, running away from us or the rain. The few we spoke to appealed
to the worn-out argument of unity for unity's sake.

I appreciate everyone's opinion. I know we all have to create them ourselves.
But if anything is a testament to the value of divergence, the benefits to be
garnered standing for principle alone, it can be found in the might of this
grand rally of the people. I have never been so empowered, so stimulated, so
confident. I know that this is what we all need right now. I hope that I can
spread this to all of you. There is one word that keeps running through my
mind to describe it-electrifying. When Dr. Paul stepped out on the stage and
was met with this energy, it brought tears to his eyes. Barry Goldwater cried
as well. I could see them from the second row and I cried with them.

Our numbers are not dwindling. We are not losing determination. Perhaps only
we hesitate, unsure of ourselves or our goals.

Please let me appeal to all of you. Let's continue on this path. Let's forge
ahead into this terrifying unknown. Because I know our power, I know that it
cannot be stopped. All of the striking, powerful people I met gathered in
southern Minnesota are not going to stop. We need to keep spreading the
message just as we always have been. Let's take this opportunity to be
reenlivened. To redirect ourselves to these tasks at hand. Each of us must
choose what that will be. Our individual strengths and their natural outlets
are known best to ourselves. That is the power and the challenge of liberty.
It is what we love about it.

Let's all go to the meetup this Monday for the Campaign for Liberty. Let's
make this the biggest meeting since we were working so hard to get Ron Paul
elected!

Let us go and call to our countrymen once more.

In the words of Bill Kauffman, in his incredibly moving speech at the Rally,
'Come home America. It's going to be a long walk home, but come home. Please
come home.'

Yours forever in liberty and resolve,

Emily Lucas
