MUTH'S TRUTHS - Is It January 20 Yet?
Posted: 11 Oct 2008 07:20 PM CDT

In a Rose Garden address at 10:25 a.m. Friday morning, President Bush said:
"Over the past few days, we have witnessed a startling drop in the stock
market — much of it driven by uncertainty and fear."

Well, duh. That fear was created by Bush himself when his entire
administration went running through the halls of Congress yelling, "The sky
is falling! The sky is falling! We need $700 billion to bailout Wall Street
immediately! IMMEDIATELY!!!"

The president went on to say: "Here's what the American people need to know:
that the United States government is acting; we will continue to act to
resolve this crisis and restore stability to our markets."

Which was Bush's way of saying: "Hi, I'm from the government, and I'm here
to help."
Run for the hills!!!!!!!

The Bushies are busy patting themselves on their collective backs for acting
in this crisis with such "bold" leadership. Recall, however, that General
Custer also boasted of his bold leadership back in the day. And we all know
how THAT turned out.

Seriously. Take a look at the Iraq war with no end in sight, the nation's
financial crisis, the recent government take-over of the housing, insurance
and banking industries, the national debt, the out-of-control spending, the
toothpaste-confiscating TSA, the sky-high cost of health care, the lousy
condition of our education system despite No Child Left Behind, and the fact
that taxpayers are now funding Donald Trump's Viagra thanks to the new
Medicare prescription drug entitlement - and explain to me how much worse
Barack Obama could possibly do.

No. Seriously.

The best thing about November 4th, no matter who wins, is that George W.
Bush will soon be gone. In eight short years, the man has wrecked the
country, wrecked the Republican Party and wrecked the conservative
limited-government movement.

January 20th can't come quickly enough.

To Heck with Beers

If Republicans don't get their act together FAST, Democrats are liable to
win BOTH Sen. Bob Beers' AND Sen. Joe Heck's seats on November 4th. Picking
up even one of them will give the donkey party majority control of the upper
house of the Legislature.

I warned MONTHS ago about the million dollar negative independent
expenditure campaign to gain Democrat control of the Senate - regardless of
the fact that the two candidates are political dunderheads who don't know
the difference between a BDR and FDR. Still, the GOP pooh-bahs appear to
have been caught completely unprepared for the D's slash-and-burn attack
machine.

Go figure, huh?

A Tale of Two Governors
Posted: 11 Oct 2008 12:43 PM CDT

According to yesterday's newspaper, the governor announced new
"budget-paring measures made necessary by falling tax revenues." The
governor said the measures, including significant layoffs of government
workers, were necessary to close an "estimated $973.6 million" budget
shortfall. In addition, the paper reported that the governor "did not
consider raising taxes as an option to help cover the gap."

"We can't expect that families would make cuts and businesses would make
cuts and we would not," the governor said. "In looking for ways to reduce
spending, I'm leaving no stone unturned and no program unexamined. . . .
(These decisions are) the same kinds of decisions that are being made at
businesses, state governments and other levels of government all over the
country."

The governor, however, wasn't Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons.
The governor was…Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine.
Oh, and he's a…Democrat.
Go figure, huh?
