WHERE TO PUT GUANTANAMO DETAINEES?
Do you think that you could ever tame a rattlesnake not to strike at
you at every opportunity.
Guantanamo detainees are a different type of enemy, and there is
nothing that can be done to change their allegiance to the theology into
which they have been indoctrinated. It's like trying to teach a
rattlesnake not to strike at you.
How can you give people that will strap a bomb to themselves, walk
into a crowded marketplace filled with women and children and kill
everyone in sight any credibility whatsoever? I think you have to be
totally insane to do that for whatever reason you want to blame for it.
We have choices -- they don't. They are brainwashed from birth to
hate us and our kind, and nothing you or President Obama or anyone else
can say will change that. They do not think with reason. Do you think
that they would react the way that you and I would. Would you blow
yourself up for your religion?
They think they are trying to kill us for religious beliefs. Jihad.
You will not change their minds and you are a fool to think that you can.
As long as the terrorist camps exist and their are leaders like Bin
Laden, we will be fighting this war.
According to a 2007 item in the New York Times, the cost of building
Gitmo's high-security detention facilities was about $54 million, while
the estimated annual cost of operating Gitmo ranges from $90 million to
$118 million. How much more would it cost us to build another prison to
replace Guantanamo?
It now seems foolish to go to the expense and effort to move the
detainees somewhere else since exceptionally fair treatment has long been
instilled there, and Democrats are unlikely to continue exaggerated
claims of torture since President Obama and his Democratic Congress are
now in charge there. Any torture complaints by Republicans would be
ignored by the biased liberal news.
However, detainees are supposed to claim torture regardless of good
treatment or where kept.

INSIDE GITMO--THE TRUE STORY
Lt. Colonel Gordon Cucullu, author of "Inside Gitmo: The True Story
Behind The Myths of Guantanamo Bay", writes the following about life at
the Guantanamo Prison Camp:
REAL NEWS - WHERE TO PUT GUANTANAMO DETAINEES?
The uprising at Qala-i-Jangi prison in Afghanistan alerted
authorities to the vulnerability and difficulty of confining and
interrogating enemy combatants in near-battlefield conditions. An urgent
Pentagon staffing action (with input from all concerned agencies,
particularly Department of Justice) led to ultimate selection of the base
at Guantanamo, Cuba for selected, high-value detainees.
In addition to the main Camp Delta complex, there are three other
installations of note: Echo, Iguana, and a formerly "secret" CIA facility
known publicly as Camp 7.
Part of the utility of Guantanamo as a detention facility is the
possibility of escape or breakout. While never impossible, probability
of escape and outside attacks are limited severely by geographical
advantages at Gitmo.
If detainees are not going to be housed at Guantanamo, then where
will they be kept? Will they be relocated to US soil or released
outright? Tried in the US judicial system? Freed (maybe in America) if
poor battlefield evidence collection or safeguarding of classified
information does not conform sufficiently to strict evidentiary
standards?
US agencies were ill-prepared to deal with detainees whose linguistic
background includes 17 different languages and multiple countries of
origin. There was no "pool" of qualified interrogators available due to
budget cutbacks.
The pressure to produce "actionable intelligence" was great.
Officials and the public were concerned with when and how the next attack
on America was coming.
The legal screening process at Guantanamo has resulted in more than
2/3 of the original detainees being released outright or turned over to
often compliant governments. Some detainees when released returned to the
battlefield and were often responsible for deadly attacks (including
against UN reconstruction personnel in Afghanistan) and heightened
propaganda.
Is confinement at Guantanamo really the inhumane, abusive environment
portrayed by activists, some international organizations like the UN, and
defense attorneys paint? Here we look at day-to-day conditions that
exist in Gitmo.
Would it surprise you to learn that beginning with the Camp X-Ray
days in early 2002, detainees have always had better chow, better medical
care, and better living conditions (less freedom of movement, of course)
than have American soldiers and sailors who guard them?
Detainees receive 4,200 calorie, Halal meals daily, cooked to
stringent standards and from a menu that rotates more frequently than the
variety given US military personnel. You may be shocked to learn of the
over-the-top efforts taken on Muslim feast days like Eid, the end of
Ramadan, to prepare large, expensive meals for them to celebrate.
The US spends twice as much on food for detainees than for American
soldiers in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Camp IV detainees have communal privileges and outdoor space to read,
pray, play board games and exercise.
Medical care is extraordinary. Prosthetic limbs given detainees are
the same quality used to treat US combat veterans. Detainees see a
physician on average 4 times monthly. Contrast that number of doctor's
visits with a typical US male who may see a doctor 3.7 times annually.
Full dental care including implants and dentures is available on-call
to detainees.
While some came with active diseases such as TB, they have been
treated and immunized for disease. For many detainees this is a first in
their lifetimes.
Voluntary colonoscopies are available for men over 50, heart surgery
has been performed, and psychiatric treatment is offered.
Hospital visits degenerated into virtual riots, nurses and medical
personnel were routinely assaulted, and too-liberal dispensing of
medications was used in suicide attempts.
Segregation and highly controlled supervision -- not solitary
confinement, which is never used -- are tools that the Detention Group
commander can employ in cases dealing with aberrant behavior.
The theory that "given more freedom detainees would respond
positively" was ultimately found to be a ruse, and thrown back in the
faces of those attempting to work with detainee leaders.
The men and women who work inside the wire bring professionalism and
dedication to the task -- despite working under constant threat
conditions that include brutal attacks, both physical and verbal.

hasEML = false;
I LOVE MY COUNTRY I HATE MY GOVT
Personally, I think this debate is purley academic because Congress
will not perform their duty under the Constitution.
"The Congress…on the application of the legislatures of two-thirds of
the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments…"
Article V, USCON
At the same time, academic exercises like this can serve secondary
purposes. Just like last month we learned that a man could become
president without proving he meets the minimum Constitutional
standards to become president, we now know as a matter of fact, the
Congress can also legally ignore the Constitution.
"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United
States, all be eligible to the office of President..."
Article 2, Section 4, USCON
The govt has trampled our precious constitution to death and has
breached the contract with We the People that authorizes its very
existence. By their own actions, or inactions, they have become a
defacto outlaw govt. They have no standing!
It's time we demand our state legislatures to form a new and less
imperfect nation.
