The guest speaker of daughter #3 from the U of Illinois, Champaign, was a reporter for the NYT. In his speach to these graduates he told them how he chose his profession. He said, I'm paraphrasing, while big corps got their messages out, the little guys couldn't be heard. His job was to give the little guys a megaphone. I really don't think he knew what hi said: I have taken sides. I have an agenda. That's a long way from reporting the news objectively.
