I can only guess what happened there, but as many long time readers might remember, I put Illinois in my rear view mirror because of DCFS. I tell you this only so you'll know I'm speaking from experience. Here's how it works. When the state comes into your house and steals your children they don't need to abide by the limits of the Constitution. It's strictly a might makes right situation. After than have taken your child(ren) captive, they assign him/her their own attorney they call a guardian ad litem to represent their "client" in all court proceedings. From then on, the "guardian" makes all the decisions for the prisoner. He has the same power to speak for the child the parents once thought they had. For example, there was a young couple in our group whose daughter had been taken away against her will. In court, her "lawyer" defied the teenager's wishes to return home. The state placed her in a foster home, but she would run away and head home. When she got home, the parents were mandated by law to report her return to the kidnappers. It was the hardest thing they ever did. It was a contributing factor in my decision to leave the Land of the Free(?). Bastards. I remember your names. *Jan Miller* & *Olav Christiansen*.
