The strategy took shape after Democratic strategists Stanley Greenberg and James Carville included Limbaugh’s name in an October poll and learned their longtime tormentor was deeply unpopular with many Americans, especially younger voters. Then the conservative talk-radio host emerged as an unapologetic critic of Barack Obama shortly before his inauguration, when even many Republicans were showering him with praise. Soon it clicked: Democrats realized they could roll out a new GOP bogeyman for the post-Bush era by turning to an old one in Limbaugh, a polarizing figure since he rose to prominence in the 1990s. In my opinion, the Friday Edition of The Denver Post outdid itself, with one “news” story and two opinion pieces bashing our fundamental right to armed self-defense against crime, tyranny, and genocide. On Page One, “Obama takes aim at flow of arms to Mexico,” the Post quoted Mexican President Calderon as saying that, “90% of the weapons seized in Mexico can be traced to the United States.” You would think that somebody, the President of Mexico, someone on the Associated Press staff, or someone at The Denver Post would have watched the Fox News story that blew the “90%” canard out of the water. In actuality, about 17% of the crime guns seized in Mexico came from the US market. By allowing this “90%” misinformation to stand without comment, both the AP and the Post seemed to demonstrate either ignorance or bias. Most of our readers would immediately think of the Russian invasion of that region last summer, during the presidential contest, but the Russians are arguably saber rattling again with a fresh buildup of boots on-the-ground ahead of planned NATO exercises. Last August, the media coverage immediately took the angle of breathless anticipation on how each presidential candidate would react to such a situation. John McCain’s position was easily established from his record over many years in the Senate. Then-Senator Obama’s position was much more difficult to ascertain – but the media gave him ample time to figure it out, helping the candidate defer those questions to the September 26 debate. Each day finds more to cause my uneasiness and fear for what various media outlets are doing to take down America. I found an article from The Bulletin by Herb Denenberg which not only points out what the media is doing with their bias and slanted reporting but also what President Obama is doing with “change that can destroy America.” I share portions of the article here but urge readers to read the entire piece. … don’t underestimate the damages these papers are doing. The mainstream media was largely responsible for electing Mr. Obama. It has been responsible for covering up his radical policies, radical appointments and endless blunders. If not reversed somehow, the course set by Mr. Obama has the potential to destroy America and the free world. That means America faces three enemies that will destroy us if they get their way: the terrorists, the Obama administration and the mainstream media. Add to what Mr. Denenberg has so clearly communicated is information in Liberty AND Tyranny by Mark R. Levin.
