When a smarter-than-thou progressive liberal democrat gets in my face and asks: *where were you when Bush was spending all that money?* Forgetting 911, the liberation of Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan , my biggest problems with GWB were Amnesty, NAFTA & the NAFTA highway connecting US to Mexico and Canada . Remember that? I strongly opposed the bottling up of our natural resources and sending our factories (aka jobs) to the other side of the globe causing massive trade deficits. As president, with a GOP Congress, I expected him to act in the best interest of the nation--- and reported same on these pages. When the US forces located Osama bin Ladin on the Tora Bora mountain range, IMHO, they should have called in an Army Corps Engineer Battalion and planted nuclear shaped-charges around the base, and brought down a mountain or two. It would make no difference had he been there or not, after that demonstration, no one in his right mind, or not, would dare give him safe haven. Further, the USA would be safe from attack for the next couple of generations. No one would dare mess with those "crazy Americans"i. We missed the opportunity the crisis afforded US. GOP “ear marks” reverted to Democrat “pork”. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi led a gang with the singular goal to recapture the White House. GW issued an XO prohibiting anyone in the Executive Dept to act on pork inserted into legislation AFTER passed by Congress. It has been determined that the recession started in their 2nd year of control of Congress. But as to the question of “where was I when Bush was spending,” I ask, where were you? I was on my keyboard helping to get the word out. We had already defeated his Amnesty program with our petitions, emails, faxes and phone calls; and we conservatives went to work again when he and Paulson announced the $700K TARP. This time they were ready for US. After burying Washington in paper and tying up their telephone lines, they were given cover by the unions and non-profits, like AARP, that showered Congress with emails/faxes, off setting our mighty effort. (Not unlike tactics used by ACORN in their voter registration drive.) The Democrat Congress passed, and GW signed, the TARP, but we as a nation failed to punish the people who didn’t honor our angry demands. We voted Vs the GOP, but neglected to oust the liberal progressive Democrat incumbents that had equally defied our efforts. No wonder they feel bullet proof. So that’s where I was, and I’ve got the archive to prove it at your finger tips. (See link at top of this page.) Where were you? Did you call your Congressman? Where are you now? Did you go to a Tea Party? I did. So did 100’s of thousands of your fellow citizens. You should; it’s not too late. We need to stop this rush to poverty. Donchya wonder just a bit that perhaps there is someone, or some group of people, that does not have America ’s best interest at heart. Do you really believe that everyone loves US or is so afraid of US, that we are safe from another 911? ------------------------------ *Spread the wealth.* The United Nation’*s* effort to promote their agenda of spreading the wealth of rich countries like Mexico, they wanted US to waste energy by turning the light off for a half hour. The the Pollyanna action will use energy to turn the lights on than it saved for having them off for 30 minutes---but it’s the message that counts. * * Sorta reminds me of all those kum-by-ya flower children that brought peace to the World by holding hands in the 1990’s when you-know-who was president. Give Peace a chance *40 years ago*. Rush Limbaugh said: what liberals accomplish doesn’t matter; good intentions is the only thing that matters. Maybe there’s more to it. Maybe the participants don’t know the difference accomplishments and good intentions. (At least they tried.) But the truth is: by participating, they effectively signed up for a cause emotionally; they are committed to the socialist cause.
