Pat,
You may be right, Pat, but I thought that everyone who handled my letter
(incuding the postal workers) had a chance to read it. I know someone with
authority at AARP became aware of it because the junk mail stopped. They
could only have found out about it from one of their advetisers who recd
their ad I returned which I scribbled my displeasure on. Maybe from their
adversting manager (I hope)..

I went to the AARP website today. It is covered with Biden happy
smiles with nursing home folks and endorsing rationed care to the elderly.
Member comments on their website are completely opposite of what AARP is
pushing. If AARP refuses to listen to its members, then hurt them where it
hurts the most...in the pocket. Notify their advertisers you will not buy
any of the products seen on AARP as long as AARP refuses to listen to its
members and members of the group they claim to represent. Hurt AARP in the
pocket.
I commend your returning advertisement to AARP companies, but that only goes
as far as the mail clerks. Send your letters to the CEOs of those
companies. Mail hard copies of letters. Make a lot of noise. Don't stop.

Last year when I read in my AARP mag that they sent 110,000 emails
supporting the Bush-Paulson TARP 1, I ripped up my AARP card and told them
what I thought of their political beliefs.
When I recd letters from their advertisers I returned it scribbling "I do
not patronize any company recomended by AARP". After a few months and a
dozen or so returned promos, I stopped receiving same.
But they haven't changed. They are now telling the govt their subscribers
want Obama's Socialized Medicine.
