*RICHS RANTS - Czars*

* *

Seems to me we know precious little about Obama’s czars, except that they
report directly to the POTUS. Depending who you believe, the US now has
somewhere between 16 and 23 czars now. I’ve heard numbers in the 40’s and
more being added all the time. Only one I know is that 31-year-old running
Chrysler and Govt Motors who admits knowing nothing about car making. I do
know they created another car czar to help him, maybe to run the finance
side. Or maybe to replace him. Why else would they tell US about his lack of
experience when we know nothing about the guys running the banks, natural
resources, the environment, etc.

At first glance, you gotta think, so what? That makes sense. The prez needs
people to carry out his policies. True, but isn’t that the job of the
President’s cabinet? Why do we need a czar of banking and a Secty of
Treasury? Or 2 czars of the automakers and a Secty of Commerce? And even
then, who has the power to create the position, determine duties, salary,
etc? And correct me if I’m wrong, how can he delegate authority he does not,
as president, have!

And what about these envoys doing the job traditionally the responsibility
of the Secty of State? How many envoys are reporting to the prez? Any
reporting to the Secty of State? Or, Congress? Who knows? Who cares? What
about the czar of Health care in charge of “end of life decisions”? Care
about that?

In the good old days, when the Constitution was in effect, Congress had to
vote to create czar/envoy positions, responsibilities, compensation, etc.,
and like Cabinet members, they had to be ratified by the Senate. I guess the
1st happened under the radar of transparency. And Sen Robert Byrd was the
lone voice heard on the Hill saying, czars should go thru the Senate
ratification process. Well, so much for the Constitution and the USA.

I think this really does come under who cares, but there’s another factor to
be acutely aware. If you look at the Organizational Chart of a large corp
you will see the CEO with 3 to 5 VPs/Officers reporting to him; then several
more positions reporting to each of them. The person with the most people
reporting to him is at the bottom of the pyramid, a foreman, maybe,
directing 25 workers.

This is pretty typical in all corps and agencies. The bigger the corp, the
more layers of management personnel, but the several tiers at the top do not
change much. The number of people reporting directly to the CEO remains the
same not more than 5 for a very good reason. The decisions made at the top
level are more complicated and time consuming than at the lower levels. The
ideal is 3 to 5.

Here’s the point I’m trying to make. There’s no way in hell’s half acre
there are dozens of czars reporting directly to the POTUS along side the
Press Secty and his Cabinet. ThIs just isn’t feasible. There must be another
layer of govt that these czars report to, not the president as they claim.
To do otherwise, the prez would not have time to have a beer with an old
friend from Harvard, meet with the unions bosses every week, give weekly
parties for the press, read a teleprompter or take his wife on a date Friday
nights.

*I have a granddaughter I’m as proud as hell of. She recently passed the bar
after attending a nationally known East Coast Univ and Law School . She was
visiting us recently and we were talking of all things--believe it or
not---politics. We started to discuss the Birth Certificate issue when she
said, “grampa, haven’t you ever heard of case law.”***

*Harvard prof goes ballistic on Cambridge cop*
The POTUS’s prejudices came into question last week when he chose to defend
a black friend in Cambridge on natl TV without caring about the facts. After
the truth came out, they “solved” the problem by lifting a few bruskies. The
MSM acted like they were reporting an NBA game, “no harm, no foul.” They
refuse to see the obvious. Coming down on the “stupid” cops like he did is
bigotry, “straight up”, as a certain Hollywood soft-headed twit said.

There’s one more thing about Mass that the loud mouth president seems not to
have been taught while attending Harvard. Once upon a time, not too awful
long ago, the state was lily white. The pols started believing their own
civil rights rhetoric and decided they needed to save the poor blacks
trapped in those evil Southern states. The guvs wife orchestrated convoys
of buses to transport these poor people to Boston , thus proving she (and
hubby) weren’t prejudice.

With the help of the USG, they arranged housing and supported them on
welfare and made them eligible for MedicAid. Pretty good deal.

I’ve admitted on these pages before: in my younger idealistic days, I was
the Director for Finance at one of the bigger black housing “projects” in
the country---37 buildings, including 2 power plants, 1,216 units. It was
actually 3 projects in one, Bromley-Heath-Bickford in the Jamica Plain
section of town. I only got jumped once while on the way to work. The other
time…nah…this isn’t about me.

I know only the fedl dept of fedl civil rights or something is supposed to
ask this question, but: exactly how many of the czars are black. Do they
reflect the population they serve. Unlike the guy referred to above, I’d
like to know the facts before I jump to any conclusion.

Actually, I couldn’t care less about the color of their skin. My point. A
person reading the above paragraph could easily jump to the conclusions that
I’m racist---in which case, you were as wrong as BHO.

By the way, I’ll bet a lot of readers applaud the Dem’s effort in saving
those poor black families from a life of poverty. Well, they’d be wrong too.
Gov Peabody was a Republican. But you say, it was the POTUS that should get
the credit, not the guv. Well, the president was a guy named Richard Nixon.
You may have heard of him.

And that place I worked with a million dollar budget, that was a 5-yr Nixon
program too. It worked this way. The public housing project was turned over
to the residents who voted for a Board who hired an Executive Director who
hired the staff. After 5 yrs of success, it was canceled with the guy who
gave them the plan that would have saved the housing projects later torn
down.

*Question(s) of the week*
Does it make any sense for tax payers to subsidize new car buyers to the
tune thousands of dollars who can afford to buy new autos costing tens of
thousands? All they have to do is turn their old car in to be melted down
and shipped to the other side of the planet where it will be used to make
things to sell to US? Our junk yards are filled with “clunkers” stripped of
their usable parts. To tell the truth, a new car never made it to the top of
my list of wants/needs, but now I wonder how long will it be legal to drive
my 1996 Pathfinder even if I do find replacement parts.

They are destroying perfectly good vehicles which is in fact, negative
production. This is insane.

Assuming our ring masters aren’t as dumb as a box of rocks, what do you
think their ulterior motives might really be?

*PRICE OF OIL*

After the price of oil was driven up to $160/bbl+ by speculators Goldman
Sachs and friends, it fell to $30/bbl last year before rebounding to $60/bbl
this year. These big companies, like Goldman Sachs, Exxon Mobil,
Citi-Groups, Bank of America, American & United Airlines and other “too big
to fail” corps, need to be broken up under the Sherman Anti-Trust Laws
because they pose an unacceptable risk to the economy and we have come to
learn that the USA isn’t so big it can’t fail.

*ILLEGALS***

Don’t think for a minute that our shadow govt doesn’t plan to erase our
southern border. It’s just a question of when. Laws are only being only
enforced Vs employers, not the illegals.

*OBAMACARE*

Tx Gov Rick Perry says he will consider invoking states rights protection
under the 10th Amendment of the constitution if the progressive democrat’s
socialized medicine bill is passed and signed by Obama because it would be
disastrous for the state. Duh.

*TEXAS GOVERNOR RACE*

Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison’s, by far the most popular politician in TX,
on-again, off-again, campaign for Gov, is on for real. Unlike Barack, Joe,
John, etal, she has announced she will resign her Senate seat and forgo her
fedl salary while campaigning. I never remember a sitting Senator running
for gov before, have you? First thought, she wants to husband the NAFTA
Super Hwy thru Texas because the Hutchison Family’s Zachary Concrete has the
concrete contract with Cintras---but wouldn’t it be a kick in the butt if
after she quits the younger Gov Rick Perry appoints himself Senator of
Texas.?!!!

*F- 35 Lighning II*

The 9th F-35 proto type rolled off the assembly line. It is the first F-35C,
the Navy version designed to land and take off from an aircraft carrier.
It’s expected to take it’s first flight later this year. A Rolls Royce
engine is being considered as an option*.

*F-22 Raptor*

Congress removed 12 additional F-22’s from Natl Defense Bill. 8,100
employees shot down. Fleet to stand at 187 fighters.

with an impressive industrial background.***
