I have only one question about the massacre of the Davidians at Waco. What is the statute of limitations on mass murder? Rich Martin We have seen the Waco Massacre many times, but before Waco there was Ruby Ridge, which in some ways, was even worse. However, it never got the media's attention. Had it been fully covered and responsibly prosecuted, there probably wouldn't have been a Waco. If you’re familiar with Randy Weaver’s story (there was a movie starring Randy Quaid and Laura Dern) you may want to skip down to the link below. It is more in depth with a lot of video that I never saw and I’ll bet most people reading this didn’t either. If memory serves, Randy Weaver was approached by the BATF at a gun show. They wanted him to help them get evidence against a gun seller. He refused. They then bought a shot gun from him and talked him in to cutting down the barrel. He did so, but it wasn’t short enough to be illegal and they enticed him to
shorten it a 2nd time. They then threatened to arrest him if he didn’t spy on their target and he refused again. They took him to court which he certainly would have won based on entrapment, if nothing else. Not trusting the govt for some strange reason, he didn’t show up in court and went home to his family in Ruby Ridge, The fedl govt followed him. First, a US Marshall killed his pre-teen son. A neighbor, Kevin, if I recall, shot and killed the m arshall . The story that the m arshall was laying on his belly observing when the shooting started was disproved by the FBI. (That was the last sane thing the govt did.) A trail of expended shells revealed how he emerged from hiding and shot the child in the back with a rapid-fire machine gun as he was running away. The most infamous story was how Special Agent Horiuchi (the same guy who shot the unarmed 16-yr-old at Mt Carmel) placed a shell between Vicki Weaver’s eyes as she opened the cabin door to let her
husband and Kevin in. Weaver did see his day in court and won big time. Tac payers paid $300,000 in a settlement to each survivor. Kevin, who did not accept the settlement, was awarded $100K in court. The murderers, instigators and the cover up artists were never brought to justice. Many got promotions. In court, the Davidians were found NOT guilty by reason of self defense. A few were found guilty of having guns while in the commission of a crime they were found not guilty!
