Our religious liberties are being crushed by the latest health care
“mandate” from the
Obama administration. Will future generations cite the signing of ObamaCare as
that moment
in time when Americans were no longer “Citizens” and became “Subjects,” once
again
subservient to a tyrannical government?

“They said it would never lead to rationing. But rationing is already
here. Under the
latest assault by the Obama administration, they are rationing our rights.”
My friend and colleague, Ken Blackwell, and his co-author Bob Morrison,
recently made
this astute observation concerning ObamaCare in an article posted on
CNSNews.com.
Ken and Bob got right to the heart of the matter in saying…
“The HHS mandate will force us to violate our consciences and provide
drugs that can
cause abortions. To us, killing unborn children at any stage is never health
care. It is a
grave sin.”
++This latest “mandate” is a grave national sin, indeed.
Barack Obama is literally forcing insurance companies and self-insured
religious
organizations to provide contraceptives and abortifacients to Americans who
want to pay for
neither.
As I told you on Friday, President Obama has once again grossly
overstepped the
constitutional authority of his office. Thankfully, it appears that Americans
have finally
had enough.
Former Attorney General Edwin Meese, a leading member of President Ronald
Reagan’s
Cabinet, recently said the Obama administration is “…as close to a monarchy as
there’s been
since the days of George III.”
In reality, our situation today may be even worse than during the
founding era since
King George III merely TAXED the goods that inspired the Boston Tea Party.
Even so great a
despot as he did not imagine he could FORCE the colonials to BUY the stuff!
So Ken Blackwell and Bob Morrison beg the question:
Are we no longer “citizens” in the eye of the Obama administration, but,
in fact,
“subjects” to an autocratic President who has trampled the Constitution, seized
power far
beyond his office, and imposed “mandates” that differ little from dictatorial
commands?
If we bow to the Obama administration’s dictatorial mandates, which are
void of
Constitutional authority, then we have, in fact, become “subjects” to an
oppressive regime
unlike any we have yet seen in American history.
I’m pleased that Blackwell and Morrison didn’t stop with calling out the
Obama
administration for their subversive activities – they (rightly) called for a
counter-assault…
“This HHS health care mandate is the gravest assault on religious liberty
in American
history. We must legislate against it. We must sue in federal court. We must
line up behind
the twenty-six states that are already challenging ObamaCare in federal court.”
This is why our sister organization, Liberty Counsel, continues to fight
ObamaCare in
the courts. Next month oral argument on the law’s constitutionality begins at
the Supreme
Court.
This is also why Liberty Counsel Action is calling on tens of thousands
of concerned
Americans to tell Congress to override Obama’s mandates through legislation.

++People from all faiths are denouncing this attack on religious freedom
and freedom
of conscience.
All 181 Catholic Bishops in the United States and numerous leaders from
other
Christian denominations have taken a stand against this latest ObamaCare
mandate.
President Obama’s dictates have not only stretched the Constitution –
they have broken
it! Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) recently declared that the Obama administration
“has become
a lawless administration.”
When a President refuses to enforce the law of the land, he has broken
faith with his
oath of office. He has become a lawbreaker –in this case, the broken law is the
Constitution
of the United States.
++Legislation is emerging to correct this alarming situation.
Right now in Congress, there are three pieces of legislation making their
way through
both Chambers that can counter the “contraceptive and abortifacient mandate.”
Liberty Counsel Action is supporting the passage of any or all of these
bills – which
will likely be reconciled into one bill if the individual measures pass their
respective
Chamber.

pass one or all
