Dear all,

APNIC Secretariat escalated this to the Executive Council (EC) and after
discussing it at their quarterly meeting yesterday, the EC have asked us to
proceed with Dhaka, with caution. I’ve written a blog post at
http://blog.apnic.net/2016/05/25/apnic-42-update/ with more details.

If anyone needs a special invitation in addition to the standard visa
invitation sent by the registration system (registration will be open soon),
please feel free to email conference at apnic dot net with your specific
requirements.

Please continue to provide feedback and information on this thread. Thank you!

Regards,
Sanjaya

I feel there is no need to raise any alarm on Bangladesh yet. Yes some
incidents have taken place of targeted violence. But generally it's fine as per
news reports here in India.
Let's see what the organisers have to say.

Hey guys,

Are we going to have issues for the next APNIC? Bangladesh is looking a little
unstable.

I was really looking forward to going... but... I am not so sure with the
violence, even against westerners.
