You were selling something - your services. :)
As your signature states, you are an IP address broker. You provide a
service, which is introducing buyers and sellers, and presumably making a
commission on resulting transactions.
You were soliciting sellers on this forum, which is an essential part of
any brokerage's sales process. You were advertising ('selling') your
services.
So to be fair, I think Tony has a point.
