Dear all - interested in contributing to a more secure Internet and email
experience in your region?

On Saturday 23 February 2019, 09:00 – 17:00, during APRICOT2019, GFCE Triple-I,
ISOC and APNIC will host The Internet Infrastructure Security Day. This
workshop aims at “enhancing justified trust in the use of Internet and email in
the region”.

It will do so by talking about the use and usefulness of a number of open
Internet Standards that are already today but could be more broadly applied to
have a better impact. Aftab Siddique (ISOC) will engage with participants on
standards including DNSSEC, TLS, DMARC, DKIM, SPF, DANE and IPv6.

We will also present a number of other initiatives that may inspire work in the
region, such as the way a group of Dutch stakeholders together mitigate DDOS
attacks by creating a joint sinking and scrubbing facility, and a joint early
warning system. Cristian Hesselman (SIDN) will talk about this. Another subject
is fighting domain abuse (Ram Mohan, Afilias) or more secure routing (MANRS –
Aftab). Taiji Kimura (JPNIC) will explain why RPKI will make a difference.
Maarten Botterman will focus on what is happening around the world on IoT
Security.

At the end of the day, we aim to work with all participants to identify
possible useful initiatives in the region, for action. The day will be
moderated by Maarten Botterman, the GFCE Facilitator. He is also ICANN Board
Member and Chair of the IGF Dynamic Coalition on IoT, and has broad experience
in the field.
