Dear Rajesh, and colleagues, Thank you for your interests and comments. Please let me respond to you with the key points from my announcement of 25 March 2020:
1. WIDE Project received 43/8 in 1990, as a direct Class A assignment from the IANA. It was the decision of WIDE Project alone to use it as we have announced, to directly fund Internet development in our region. 2. We invited APNIC (and APNIC Foundation) to partner with us in creating the APIDT, for their outstanding record in regional Internet development activities. 3. WIDE Project did not offer the address space for return to the IPv4 “free pool”, for allocation under APNIC policies. Instead it is now owned by APIDT, and will be sold in full compliance with APNIC transfer policies. 4. The purpose of the APIDT is to raise and distribute funds, and it will bring significant benefits to the entire Asia Pacific Internet community. For a more complete explanation, please see full announcement here: https://blog.apnic.net/2020/03/25/announcement-regarding-ipv4-address-block-43-8/ Thank you for your understanding, Prof Jun Murai WIDE Project and APIDT _______________________________________________ apnic-talk mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.apnic.net/mailman/listinfo/apnic-talk
