Hi,
First, I would like to appreciate APNIC, EC members and all others involved in
updating the APNIC by-laws and its governance structure.
Keeping in mind the probable EC hijack attempt in the last EC election,
updating by-laws and governance structure was very much required.

In proposal 2
(https://www.apnic.net/about-apnic/organization/structure/proposed-by-law-reform-2023/),
an attempt is to make corporate diversity, to not allow one corporation to
take over the EC.
But how will you take care of a scenario, where a group of individuals, with a
mindset of taking over the APNIC, and have control of only around 5000 voting
rights (roughly 12-15% of total voting rights)?
With the current voting structure, every member can cast a vote for all the 3
(or 4 depending upon the seats available) EC seats. It opens up the space for
the formation of the syndicate and only the group will get elected (and
subsequently re-elected).

In my opinion, if this issue is not taken care of in this governance update
exercise, we may have to do a fresh exercise again (provided the lobby didn't
hijack the EC till then).

Regards,
Gaurav
