We are planning to have APIX workshop on Mon 11 Sep 2023 at Kyoto, from 14:30 to 18:00 (JST/UTC+9), at the same venue of the APNIC56 meeting. Usually, APIX has its meeting which is closed to its members and invitees, but this workshop is open to APNIC56 attendees, so that we could discuss with many IXP users, such as content providers, CDN providers, and network service providers. Thanks ============ APIX Workshop Date: Mon 11 Sep 2023 Time: 14:30 – 18:00 (JST/UTC+9) Place: Room 510, Level 5 International Conference Centre, Kyoto (ICC Kyoto) Draft agenda: (1) Introduction of APIX (10 min) presented by Katsuyasu Toyama (APIX/JPNAP) -- To non-IXP attendees of this workshop, briefly introduce APIX (2) Internet and peering landscape of Japan – from IXP perspective (20min) presented by Katsuyasu Toyama (APIX/JPNAP) -- Japan is one of the most Internet penetrated countries since the commercial Internet started approximately 30 years ago. This presentation briefly covers the internet and peering landscape in Japan, including the trends of traffic, operations, markets, and regulations. (3) Discussion on the policy change in APNIC region regarding IPv4 assignment size to IXPs (30min) moderator to be decided -- Changing policy is now proposed in Policy SIG of APNIC that initial IPv4 assignment size to IXPs will be reduced from /23 to /26. IXP operators and IXP members/customers will discuss its pros and cons, and prepare comments for the Policy SIG meeting if necessary.
