Agreed, agreed, agreed (sorry cboltz :), agreed.

I'd rather learn Go than see it done in Perl again. (Sorry Perl fans.
Fantastic sed+awk+sh replacement, but a bit ungainly at these sizes.)

That might be a false choice :) but I imagine Go could be smaller and
faster than Python, which is the more obvious choice.
