After seeing the tenor project slashdotted, I got to thinking about an
innovation that I'd like to see on my desktop. Initially it started by
my laziness - I often leave my computer without an away message up. If
I go to class (or if I had a meeting or something) it would make sense
if my away message referenced a calendar and then said "I'm not here,
I'm in class" or something to that effect. Then when I saw the tenor
project I started thinking about the timestamps on my digital pictures.
This has the same effect, so if last week when I went to a speedway, my
computer pulled up the timestamp on my pictures and went "hey, he was at
the speedway then, lets put those pictures in a speedway folder in his
graphics program" I'd be a pretty happy camper. Lots less work for me.
This would be great for going to a meeting and receiving files as well,
my computer would say, "hey, that's from this meeting which corresponds
to this subject, lets put that in this folder for him". Now that's my
computer talking to itself, and that's the way it should be! I really
hope we can see this type of functionality integrated into the complete
desktop experience. You guys've done a lot on bringing the desktop to
Linux and I'm very grateful.
        Keep up the good work,
                Charlie Reitsma
