[Since I couldn't find a direct contact address to the
people involved with the Appeal project, am sending
this to the mailing list. This typically isn't
circulated in a public mailing list, but my inability
to find another address has left me no choice. If the
moderator may be kind enough to help me...]

Hello,

I am a freelance writer and have had my articles
published on NewsForge, Linux.com, IBM DeveloperWorks,
LJ.com, etc. I also run an OSS news website,
fossengineer.com.

The Appeal project is an interesting idea. I have seen
and read a lot about the projects under its umbrella.
I was thinking of interviewing someone involved with
the Appeal project, co-ordinating the entire thing.
Below are certain questions that I think would help
new users understand the appeal initiative better.

Since this is an email interview and I have to "ask"
the questions all at one go, they might not read very
intelligent. The purpose is to get my point across to
you and cover as much ground as possible.

You guys must be busy, and so, the answers don't have
to be essay-type. Being short and to-the-point will do
just fine as long the message is delivered. And yes
it's perfectly ok for me if more that one of you
answer the questions. If many people answer the
questions from where they stand with the project, the
asnwers are short and yet the message is delivered.

I hope this is doable.

<!--Question

1. What prompted the need for the Appeal Project?
2. What projects are currently being incubated?
3. Are any of these currently deployable? Which of
these projects stand a realistic chance of being
mature enough to be included in KDE 4? Are any part of
the Google Summer of Code 2006?
4. How exactly will these projects be included in KDE
4? What if I don't care about the fonts and other
gloss? Do I get the option to "turn-off" these
features?
5. Are the developers working on the projects under
the appeal umbrella, full-time KDE-hackers?
6. How is the Appeal project different from KDE's own
(kde.)Usability and (kde.)Quality projects?
7. Sometime ago there was a discussion on the
kde.devel.appeal mailing lists about collaborating
with GNOME's Tango project. What's the latest on that?
Many people think Tango and Appeal are two very
different projects. What levels do you collaborate at,
if at all?
