Are applets and plasma supposed to be the standard for kde4? I'm working on ksmserver for google SoC. I ran into ksplash today and realized it is maintainerless and wondered if this is a candidate to completely be changed to the new system. I might be able to work on this myself mid/last sept after my SoC project is done. I'm still new here, so this seemed like a good way to get on board with kde4 on a relatively simple app.
