I'm having the same problem; I'm about to have to stop using the app. When I sync with RTM I have multiple instances of the repeating task created. I have a lot of repeating tasks so I end up with a lot of extra stuff I don't need to see and that I have to go through and delete. I have seen the duplicates also be repeating and then some aren't.
