Hello there, First, I'd like to congratulate you on ToDo and encourage you to stay on track and avoid feature bloat. I've used a lot of Task Managers over the years and have currently settled on ToDo because of its simplicity. It just gets out of the way and lets me get on with "my stuff".
Please don't cave-in to every feature request you get and end-up with a bloated product. For example. I've just moved over from OmniFocus. If people want something that sticks very close to the GTD methodology, has multiple nested folders, task sequencing, task status, mandatory contexts etc. etc. and all the complexity that is necessary to do that well then they should check it out instead of asking for ToDo to become more complex. Similarly, just because ToDo syncs with Remember The Milk and Toodledo doesn't mean it has to support all those features - especially as ToodleDo have their own iApp out now. What's the point in ToDo matching feature-for-feature with ToodleDo's iApp? How long before Remember The Milk produce their own iApp? Don't lose your niche! Simplicity IMHO. Having said that ... Recurring tasks could do with a tweak IMHO. Say I have a weekly task. The moment I check it off, I don't really want next week's recurrence of the task to immediately appear above non-deadline tasks in my task list. What happens is that I get continually bugged by the same tasks. I want my weekly task to stay out of the way until "the right time". I ask you to find a simple solution to this problem that does not make ToDo overly complex. I have a suggestion, but you may think of something better. My suggestion is to be able to assign a "lead time" to a task that has a due date or is recurring. The task stays at the bottom of the list until we're within the lead time. For example, if I have a task that repeats every Friday and has a lead time of 2 days then it remains at the bottom of my list until we get to Wednesday, at which point it rises up the list to the appropriate position as it does now. Thanks for listening!
