In my opinion, priorities are best communicated visually with the aid of distinctive icons and color, as opposed to something with subtle differences such as the current "bars." Your eye is naturally drawn to colors (provided you're not colorblind) so red, yellow, and green communicate quickly, without the need for interpretation. On that note, if colors are implemented in the future, please consider "colorblind-safe" colors so that people with that issue can distinguish. Whether it be colored dots with a 1, 2, or 3 in them, or just colored flags, it seems to me that you could get greater distinctiveness that can be recognized quicker than the current "bars." Hopefully that would help all of us.
