Hey everyone, sorry about the cookie cutter response. Sometimes when the email really pours in our responses tend to get a little "bot" like. Thanks for the wake-up call.
Overall we were quite pleased with what Apple announced in 3.0. We would have liked to see a local solution for notification. It seems like whenever that topic comes up Apple jumps on the "background processes are evil" campaign. I think they could have a simple notification process that they control and third party applications register notifications without the need to run in the background. This would be similar to what the Palm OS does, which also does not allow background processes for normal apps. In any case, we plan on taking advantage of the notification they are providing so at last, Todo will be able to notify when tasks are due. Some of the other features already work with our products. I've loaded up the new OS and was able to copy-cut-paste in Todo and Notebook (I didn't try AccuFuel). It appears that feature will go across most applications without any modifications (very nice!). As you know, we already have search in our products but having a system wide search will be awesome (again, something I've wanted since the Palm days). We plan on integrating as deep as the API allows us into search. That may include swapping out our own search and display with using Spotlight in our own apps, but I haven't looked into it so I'm not sure what we'll do there yet. Let me assure you though that we'll be right on the cutting edge with the new API. We were heavily involved in the early iPhone SDK days and plan on doing the same with these new features. Also, just a little hint of the immediate plans, we do have a major release coming of Todo. There are some big features that have been requested for a long time and I think everyone will be quite happy with the coming update. Again, sorry about the generic response, please let us know if you have any specific questions about the SDK I didn't address.
