Idea for improving the functionality around the option to automatically sync on app start.
Maybe you could add a parameter that allowed the user to specify a time period (in minutes) within which a second would not be performed. I often find myself quitting the app, and then remembering to put another item in. When I restart, often after less than a minute, the app still does a sync. Over 3G this can be slow, and extends the time it takes to add the new task. With this option, if I restarted the app within the configured time (5 minutes say), the auto sync would be bypassed. I could still do a manual sync if I liked, probably after I had added my new task. Good idea?
