If all the tasks are shown in the Future (#2), then the badge won't show (#1) since Todo thinks that there's nothing overdue or due today.
So the question is - Why are they all in the future? Have you checked your iPhone's current date and time? Unless you have it set to automatically sync with your network, it's possible that it's off. Another possibility is that your Mac's date is incorrect and that is throwing things off.
