After you do the initial save of the task name and you're looking at the various details, the task already exists (or should exist). The only button at the top is the list name on the left. If you tap that button, you should see your new task. Unless you're focused on a list that's different than the one you created the task in. I.e. Start in List A but change the list to List B. Then you won't see the task because you're looking at the tasks in List A.
