Thanks for contacting Appigo. In this instance we feel it is appropriate to
further discuss all of the sync features in Appigo Sync and Todo. Please
read the following about the different sync methods:

1.*) Todo Synchronization* - This is the normal sync option provided in Todo
and should be the default sync method used.

Pictured here:

Also, we want to make sure you are aware of the rules of conflict resolution
with our software sync design for Todo and Appigo Sync. Here is a Google
Group discussion regarding conflict resolution in Todo with regard to
syncing:

And here is our response to the thread:

2.) Todo Settings >> Synchronization >> Advanced >> *Reset Synchronization
Data *- This option will clear off all tasks in Todo and pull all the tasks
available in the backend sync service (Toodledo.com, Remember the Milk, or
Appigo Sync) into Todo. This is typically used when there is a database or
data corruption issue with Todo and we want to clear out the local database
and pull all the tasks from the backend sync service.

3.) Todo Settings >> Synchronization >> Advanced >>* Perform Full
Synchronization* - A full synchronization is not a recommend process for
normal syncing. A full synchronization will pull everything from the
server, overwrite ALL tasks it matches including the ones that may have data
that will be lost, and then pushes up any tasks that have never been synced.
It's almost as destructive as a reset sync except it does allow local tasks
that have never been synced to be pushed up to the server.

*NOTE:* This is an advanced sync method that should only need to be used
when troubleshooting.

4.) *Sync Now* - The "Sync Now" button on the Advanced tab of Appigo Sync is
actually to force a Sync Services sync between iCal, Sync Services, and
Appigo Sync. It will not initiate a sync between Appigo Sync and Todo. iCal
has what is called a "lazy" sync with OS X sync services. When you make
changes in iCal, they are not always immediately available in sync
services. That is why we put the "Sync Now" button in Appigo Sync, to force
iCal to place it's data in Sync Services so Appigo Sync could pick it up.

With normal use, the Sync Now should not be needed, but we have it there in
case some tasks or modifications are not making it over. *In order to sync
with Appigo Sync, you always need to initiate the sync from Todo on your
iPhone or iPod touch.
*
Now to better understand each of these sync process, we would like you to
follow these steps that will guide you through the proper use of each:

*1.) Create one new Task in iCal and sync with Todo. Does the task show up
in Todo?*

If the answer is no, can you try the "Sync Now" option in Appigo Sync, and
then follow that up by pressing the Synchronization button in Todo and tell
us if the change then shows up?

*2.) Create one new Task in Todo and sync it with iCal. Does the task show
up in iCal?*

If the answer is no, can you try the "Sync Now" option in Appigo Sync, and
then follow that up by pressing the Synchronization button in Todo and tell
us if the change then shows up?

*3.) Mark an existing Task in iCal and sync with Todo. Does the task show as
completed in Todo?*

If the answer is no, can you try the "Sync Now" option in Appigo Sync, and
then follow that up by pressing the Synchronization button in Todo and tell
us if the change then shows up?

4.) Mark an existing Task in Todo and sync with iCal. Does the task show as
completed in iCal?*

If the answer is no, can you try the "Sync Now" option in Appigo Sync, and

*NOTE:* When referring to "Sync with Todo" we are talking about this
synchronization button in Todo:

We hope this provides you with a better understanding of the different sync
methods and leads you to be able to troubleshoot any sync issues. If not,
feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist you further.

Thanks,

The Appigo Team
