Sometimes, I inadvertently tap the icon for creating a new, quick Todo (the plus sign with lightning bolt or quill). There is no graceful way of canceling that--even taking a trip back to the lists screen and returning keeps one in the create new screen (title field at top, keyboard at bottom, several todos visible in between).
What I did the first time, without realizing it, was to tap one of the todos that's visible. That brings up the info for that todo. However, when one returns to the list, the screen is jet black--and there is *no* way of getting rid of that short of pressing the hardware Home button and exiting the app entirely. (One can tap the instant Todo icon a second time, which restores the screen to visibility, but one is still trapped!) Now, I did discover a way to escape this, which is to tap the manual rearrange button, which produces a screen with the chance to delete any todo, and with a Done option-- and, on the left, an *ominous* reset button. I don't know what Reset does, but I wasn't about to test it! Done, however, *generally* but not always, enables one to escape the trap, without exiting the app. (If, however, you have tapped Lists first and returned to the same creation screen, doing the two-tap manual arrange and Done, takes you back the black screen of NO ESCAPE!) Of course, what's needed here is the same Cancel button that appears when one taps the plus sign rather than the Lists icon. That's what appears when one taps to create a full-blown todo. The same should happen when tapping for an instant todo--whether on purpose or inadvertently!
