Still works for me! You can right-click or you can double-click. What happens when you double-click a to do?
Installing Appigo Sync and using iCal for the repository shouldn't be affecting iCal's behavior. Have you tried restarting the Mac? You probably have given that it's been two days. Do other iCal functions work OK? Adding an event to the calendar? Adding a todo? I'm just an end user... you could also post over on the Apple Discussion forums at apple.com. There are literally thousands of people over there...and many tech gurus who love to help.
