Give it a due date two weeks before the exam. It will then appear in your Focus list two weeks before the test is going to happen, presumably to remind you to start studying!
The Repeat is for tasks, such as watering household plants, that you need to do on a regular basis. If the tasks always occurs on the same day, e.g., Monday is trash day, then you pick repeat from Due Date. Then, every Monday, the task will reappear. If. instead, the task is a different type and should reappear a set amount of days *after* you've done it, e.g., watering the plants, then pick from Completion Date. (In that case, it resets the due date from the day you tap that it's done. With watering plants type tasks, you wouldn't want to water them each Monday, but rather you'd want to remind again, say, 9 days after the last time you watered. Trash type tasks, by contrast, are on a fixed schedule.)
