http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/3821946 After setting this up go to your iPhone home screen | Settings | Wi-Fi | your AdHoc network. Now you can be sure that they are on the same network and as long as the firewall is not at issue a sync should work. Note that if you want to have internet access at the same time you have an Ad-hoc network configured, then you will probably need two network cards--a wireless and an Ethernet. One to receive internet traffic and one to host the Adhoc network. This isn't really part of our support, but we hope this helps.
