Is there the ability to start the app and immediately be put into the
quick add dialogue with keyboard ready to start typing? Even better,
anyone know of a lock-screen app for entering simple tasks? This would
be jailbreak obviously, not supported, but it could be made by someone
in the community. I guarantee that it would drive sales, because no
one else would have it.

Usability Breakdown:
I understand that one of the things GTD stresses is to get stuff off
of your brain as quick as possible, so you can keep on working with
little interruption. I would think that adding new task items would be
one of the top three frequent use-cases for task apps. For me, it is
likely to be use-case number one.

Current Steps:
6 steps, 9-15 seconds, 4-5 actions
As it stands now, from what I can see, to unload a task, you have to:
1. turn the iphone on
2. get out of lockscreen (not apigo's fault, but could be better with
unsupported / jailbreak community lockscreen task-adding)
3. hunt for todo app (not apigo's fault, but can be better, see above)
4. wait for app to load (4-5 seconds, could be better, 3gs probably
is)
5. click on a very small quick-add button (intuitive icon btw!
UNintuitive size for my fingers and brain)
6. start typing

One less step is easy:
5 steps, 7-9 seconds, 3-4 actions
I am currently deciding between Todo and 2do apps. 2do has the ability
in its settings to go into adding a quick task, immediately upon
startup of the app. VERY useful, as it gets rid of an entire step
above. Each step above that you can get rid of, enhances the usability
of entering new tasks into the product by 20%. Right now, Todo is at
6 steps of effort. 2do is at 5 steps - they dont have step 5.

Ultimate:
3 steps, 2-4 seconds, 2 actions
I think realistically, with current technology, someone could get it
down to 3 steps:
1. turn the iphone on (into lock screen)
2. click add-task icon in lockscreen (make it large, and integrate it
with other existing, well-used, resource skimpy, lock screen
modifiers)
3. start typing

Gains:
Say that you do this 15 times a day, each day of the week

Current : 16-26 mins / week wasted
One less: 12-16 mins / week wasted
Ultimate: 3-7 mins / week wasted

This is not to mention the interruption, and safety factors that come
into play when you introduce work environments and driving.

Enjoy my professional-like assessment, and I hope that you can improve
your task-entry method!
