The nesting is actually lost in the initial sync *from* the iPad, not the sync *to* the iPhone. The free version of Toodledo doesn't support subtasks. From the Appigo FAQ (http://bit.ly/bezHyw): Be aware that the free accounts don't support (display) subtasks of projects and checklists. *Also, syncing 2 or more devices with the same free account will break the parent-child relationship of your projects and checklists.* If you're going to pay for a cloud-based account, you may want to use Appigo's own Todo Online (http://www.appigo.com/todoonline). I haven't signed up yet, because the last time I checked the UI was still missing several things features and bug fixes on my must-have list. But it's still world's better than Toodledo's UI, and if you're just using it for cloud sync (as opposed to interactive browser use), it seems like getting everything from one vendor is the safest way to go.
