It was essential this year to prune peaches very hard where entire crop was lost- Then you should come back from mid-june until Aug 1- sooner is better to remove heavy upright growth out of the middles to avoid shading fruiting shoots as Jim Bitner indicated and shape the scaffolds to avoid excessive height on open center trees- this is essential as peaches make fruit buds in September on the new growth from this summer.
