Greetings Apple-Croppers,
The International Fruit Tree Association (IFTA) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year by holding its Annual Conference in Hobart, Tasmania. The conference takes place Feb. 3-8, 2007, and features educational presentations by experts in tree fruit production from around the world, along with tours of local orchards and packinghouses. Attendees also have the opportunity to take part in horticultural tours prior to the show in Australia, and following the show in New Zealand. Even if you aren't able to attend this milestone event, you can still follow the activities of each day. I'll be making the trip Down Under, and will be writing a daily Web log of the trip, with details on the meetings and orchard tours, as well as thoughts from others in attendance. Beginning Jan. 27, log on to the American/Western Fruit Grower Web site, www.americanfruitgrower.com <http://www.americanfruitgrower.com/> , and click on the "International Fruit Tree Association: Celebrating 50 Years" banner to access the blog. It's something you won't want to miss! If you have any questions, just let me know. Thanks!
