Hello all,

We are still evaluating damage. There was a significant frost / freeze
event in the wee hours last Monday morning, State-wide. Damage was
variable.

Some stone fruit (cherry mostly) growers had serious damage, others much
less. Few escaped entirely.

Some pears will have a significantly reduced crop, most report light
damage, if any.

The king blossom was nipped off in some important apple production
regions, not in others.

The full extent of the damage is still being evaluated, and will not be
known for weeks.

But, all this as it is, we were expecting the largest apple and cherry
harvest ever, unless "something big" happened. We didn't have to wait
long for "something big" this year.

We are still expecting a good crop of everything we grow.

I'm getting feedback on damage to vineyards but nothing on orchards yet.

        Hi Apple Croppers,

There are rumors in Michigan about there being damage in
Washington State and California. Does anybody know anything?
