Matt McCallum, publisher of Fruit Growers News, is touring some of
England's finest high-tunnel growing operations — and he's be bringing
you along, virtually. The tour, sponsored by Haygrove High Tunnels, is
taking attendees on a three-day tour where they're seeing Haygrove's
tunnels in action. The tour runs Oct. 6-8.
Throughout the trip, Matt is sharing his experiences through the High
Tunnel Tour Blog, http://haygrovetunnels.blogspot.com. And with Matt's
blog, you'll be able to virtually experience the tour along with him.
He's posting his thoughts from the tour, as well as some of his
favorite pictures from the various locations. So, be sure to check the
blog to share in the High Tunnel Tour experience — and to see what new
information Matt and the other tour attendees are learning.
Crops grown under the high-tunnel system in England include
strawberries, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums,
cut flowers and asparagus. Growers on the island country have embraced
high tunnels much quicker than in the United States due to the lack of
available farmland.

Matt's been seeing on the tour.
